Tea Review: IteaWorld Classic Teas
I was introduced to I Tea World Teas online and was sent a selection of teas
The Classic Collection
I should spend a moment talking about the packaging. The tea comes in pre-measured packets, that are not tea bags, but bags of individual loose-leaf teas. Each tea packet has instructions on making the teas using Kung Fu Method. What a charming idea and gives novice tea drinkers a chance to widen their scope of tea and enjoy tea in a new manner.
I brewed the teas both were, both conventional and Kung Fu. I enjoyed both. There is, however, something soothing about brewing tea Kung Fu.
Also included in the package (btw, love love the closure and feel of the packaging) is a pamphlet to tell you all about the tea brand and a timeline of history. There is more in-depth history on their website and I suggest you go there and read about the beginnings of ITeaWorld.
I love a happy ending!
Now on to these teas:
Da Hong Pao – light, fragrant, and pleasant with a taste of tobacco and licorice, semi-sweet
Fenghuang Dancong – Floral and sweet like honey. I thought I had a lotus or jasmine tea at first.
Minnan Narcissus – A dryer Oolong with more tannins and a lovely mouth feel
Tie Guanyin – floral and refreshing, light, lovely color
Yunnan
Yingde
** 2nd steep – ah yes! that’s the brew I desire. smooth, mild yet with some body to it!
Wild Souchong
Lapsang Souchong – Floral / Sweet/ Smokey – lovely tea
What an amazing selection of teas and I loved them all, not one would I even pass on.
You are going to want to give this company a shot and if you do not like the classic collection there is also:
Beyond that there are different ways to pick your teas:
- Category
- Planting Method
- Efficacy
Whatever way you choose, you should choose because these teas are delightful. I’m thrilled to share them with you, I only wish we could have shared a cup of tea together. My pick would be Yunnan. It was my top favorite, but honestly, they were all great and some were even surprises, like the souchongs, I really did not expect them to be as mellow and delightful as they were. Some of the souchongs I have had were over-smoked and too strong. These were spot-on perfect! Again, you have to try these teas and I hope you do!
What will be in your cup? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear from you!
