I was invited out to lunch by a lovely tea person whom I will refer to as the tea scientist. In reality it’s Molly of PersnickeTea. Let me tell you Molly is one smart lady and I enjoyed our chat both of tea and of our personal lives and goals.
You will have a chance to see Molly at the 2018 Midwest Tea Festival as she will be presenting two chats which I believe are sold out (but she will be out and about when she’s not teaching us about her amazing teas and adventures. Molly has put a great deal of work into her presentations and I do plan to pop in and listen to a bit of it and take a few notes (if I can sneak in there) 🙂
I also picked up a package of Molly’s Tea that I will be reviewing in the near future as well.
But I have to tell you about the venue we ate at, the title of this blog: Not Jaded Boutique and Tea Room, and their tag line is “ A place where enthusiasm never lacks”.
Such warm and friendly people in a peaceful atmosphere!
Not Jaded is located in Wentzville Missouri in the downtown area in a lovely corner brownstone building. When you walk in you are greeted and if you are not familiar the areas are explained to you: to your right are the boutiques that have lovely clothing, scarves, girls clothing and jewelry. There is even a selfie station in the back where you can go have some fun taking some pictures of yourself.
To the left is a lovely, vintage looking tea room. I have to tell you it was so beautiful. Each table had a beautiful lace tablecloth and on each table were vintage porcelain tea cups and cloth napkins (the smallest of details are taken care of). Honestly it will make you giggle inside. Peaceful music is playing over head and there’s the smell of something baking.
The baking would be Tara (the owner) who today was making cranberry scones. I had the pleasure of partaking of one and it was amazing. It came to our table warm and delightful. I’m not sure what flour she uses but I do not believe these are all purpose flour it may have been an almond or coconut flour (I have to ask). Either way, WOW!
I also had some tomato basil soup that was incredible with small pieces of tomato that melted in your mouth.
The tea was what I was most excited about there are so many to choose from I had to choose the sampler that gave me three smaller cups of teas (orange dreamsicle, dong ding oolong and blueberry basil), as well as Tara providing us with a unique ginger tea that is made from a cube of ginger/sugar combined and it melts in the tea pot. We learned at first the tea tastes more sugar but if you wait a little bit, the ginger really kicks in and takes over.
Not Jaded is a beautiful destination, my suggestion is for you to visit, if you are local make it a lunch date with a friend and if you are out of town visiting, it’s a must visit on your list to try a local tea shop, local teas and wonderful atmosphere.
If you do stop by tell Tara I sent you and then let me know what you think, I already know you are going to love it!
Be well,
Simply,
Lisa B.
