The Six Major Health Benefits Of Lotus Tea

Is Lotus Blossom Tea that good?

I’ve heard some interesting stories about Lotus flower tea. Recently I had the opportunity to try not one but three varieties of Lotus tea. Including a rare white Lotus Flower.

In Egypt, lotus flowers represent rebirth in the afterlife.

The original colors of white, blue and pink represent the human race.

In India, the flower petals represent the elements of the earth.

In my life, they represent a healthy and beautiful beverage that only adds and does not take away.

Lotus plants grow in ponds in Asia anchored in the mud. The flowers rise to the top bringing forth beautiful white, pink, and blue flowers. So beautiful is something that is grown in the mud and rises through the waters.

What is Lotus tea good for? A few of the health benefits of lotus tea might be surprising. Let’s talk about digestion, heart, blood, cancer, weight and so much more.[

Things to consider before buying any Lotus Blossoms

Do you want to try something new? Something unique and something to brag about? Then you have to add Lotus tea to your list. While some Lotus blossoms are easy to find there are a few that are as rare.

Do not fall for the Lotus energy drinks you are seeing advertised, this is a fad and pyramid scheme company. This is not a Lotus Blossom Tea.

Trying a cup of Lotus Blossom tea will make your day. While being a bit unique it’s packed with health benefits and very few things to warn you about.

Always know your product. Buy from reputable suppliers and brew according to directions.

There is some speculation that Lotus Blossom Tea can cause hallucinations. Possibly at high dosages. You will not reach those dosages following the directions to brew.

I have drunk many cups of Lotus Blossom tea and have never had a bad experience or a “high” experience.

Lotus blossom tea is a beautiful and delightful delicate tea well worth every sip. Lotus blossom tea also contains no caffeine.

You can also buy Lotus Tea blended. Combined with black, green, or white tea exposed to the essence of the Lotus flower. Like Jasmine tea. Jasmine tea is a green tea that is exposed to Jasmine flowers. The tea picks up the essence and is sold without the Jasmine flower, just the tea exposed to the flower.

Presenting the product

The lotus flower is a psychoactive plant. It has a few names such as sacred blue lily, blue water lily, or blue Egyptian lotus.

Lotus flowers have been used for thousands of years. They have been used as medicinal, sleep aids, and natural aphrodisiacs.

Such a beautiful flower, and one thing I must warn you about. It is best to pour off your first steep on a lotus flower. The first steep can be somewhat bitter.

Brew your tea, steep, and pour away. Steep again and you will be so surprised by the gentle beautiful flavor of a Lotus blossom.

The four Lotus Flowers I got to enjoy were:

  • Blue – denotes wisdom, knowledge, and enlightenment. Blue is considered a symbol of victory of the spirit over the senses.
  • White – denotes humor and innocence. It is the most popular color that signifies peace and purity. Buddhists believe it is designated as wealth, knowledge, fertility, and faith.
  • Dark Pink – or Red Is a connection to the heart. Denotes love and compassion with a heart connection.
  • Light Pink – Is the Lotus most often associated with Buddhism. The closed bud symbolizes passing through a spiritual path. The opening means enlightenment.

Each is unique, starting off bitter and then infusing into a unique and individual brew.

Lotus flowers are generally white, pink, yellow, red, blue, and purple. There are also many other variations and more are being created. Not all Lotus flowers grown are to brew. The ones I was able to try came from a tea master in Taiwan.

Features & Benefits Of Lotus Blossom Tea

What is the Lotus Blossom Flower? Sometimes rare, beautiful, escaping odds, and flower of the gods. A potent flower that grew to give us wonderful teas.

There are many flowers that can grow underwater. That can escape the mud, fish, and muck of underwater life. Then escape towards the sun and surface like a beautiful flower sitting just on the water.

Lotus blossoms can decrease swelling. Studies have shown that lotus tea can kill cancer cells. Lotus flowers can also regulate sugar, protect your heart, break down fat and aid your blood vessels.

Like most teas, Lotus tea has an amazing amount of health benefits. The one thing missing is the actual tea benefit. Since lotus flower tea is not an actual tea but a tisane or floral herbal “tea”.

Don’t let that stop you from enjoying your lotus flower. Lotus flower tea is still packed with its own incredible list of health benefits:

Blood Sugar Levels – Because Lotus flowers are high in potassium this helps maintain your blood sugar levels. Lotus tea also relaxes your blood vessels allowing increased blood flow which helps to regulate your blood sugar levels.

Antioxidant – Like many plants, lotus blossoms contain flavonoids and alkaloid properties. These can neutralize free radicals that cause stress and damage to cells.

Inflammation – Lotus Blossom Tea can help reduce inflammation. Lotus blossom tea contains quercetin and catechins both aid in reducing inflammation. Inflammation is caused by macrophages that signal immune responses and cause inflammation. These can be combated by Lotus Blossom Tea.

Digestive Aid – Lotus tea contains fiber (I know, right). Fiber helps everything move right along as well as clean up the things that seem to get stuck along the way. Lotus tea can also help add to the absorption of nutrients by triggering gastric and digestive enzymes.

Antibacterial – Lotus Blossom Tea has been used medicinally for thousands of years. The bad bacteria in your mouth that is responsible for cavities and gum disease is inhibited by the use of Lotus flowers as a tea.

Mental Health – Lotus tea can also aid your mental health. By being beneficial to your cognitive functions. Lotus tea contains zinc when paired with B6 helps improve your neurotransmitter function.

Social Proof Lotus Blossom Tea Is Unique

There always needs to be more research done on the rarest of these flowers. They are safe and beneficial. The more we study them the more we find out just how important they can be to our health and even our minds.

What do you have to say about Lotus Blossom teas? I scoured the internet to find some user reviews and comments. Here is what they had to say:

“Lotus blossom tisane looks and tastes beautiful and peaceful. The first sips took me to the river bank of my hometown. Honest and mesmerizing taste”

“Tastes really nice and unique. Very calming and makes me feel pretty good”

“This tisane has some really interesting mellow effects. The taste on the first steep is already sweet and has a really nice sweet (candy?) taste to it with a little bitterness. In the following steeps the bitterness subsides and the sweetness really comes out. Overall very interesting”

“Great brew before bed. Its full flavor is a nice touch at night”

Suggested brewing:

During 3-4 cups of lotus tea 6 times a day. You can re-steep a lotus blossom up to three times before discarding it.

**It is suggested to discard your first steeping. But if you want to try it, it will be bitter and mellow up with each steep after that.
