  • Tea Tastes – It will help keep track of our changing taste buds.  We may love a particular tea today, but a year from now we may wonder why.
  • Brewing – How you are supposed to brew compared to how you enjoy that tea.  Get the best brewing methods.
  • Reduce Risk – Referencing your tea dislikes so you won’t make that same mistake again.  Saving money and time.
  • Connection – Remembering the teas you love and did not, and also sharing your journal with family and fellow tea lovers.
  • Familiarity – After reviewing your journal entries you will notice that perhaps you love an Earl Grey but are not so thrilled about anything Chai.
  • Remembrance – A tea journal will help you remember the teas you drank, and your impressions of that teas.

Increase Your Tea Knowledge

All of your senses are used in preparing a cup of tea.  You are training your nose and palate to turn multi-sensory experiences into memories.

  • Taste
  • Smell
  • Seeing
  • Hearing
  • Touch..

Linking perception coming from your five senses to emotions and past experiences. Emotion and experience link together to create a memory.

Taste and smell are subjective, so there is no right or wrong description when taking tasting notes. For example, if you’ve never tasted a pineapple, you wouldn’t taste or smell pineapple in a tea but the same naturally occurring taste or aroma compounds present in a pineapple would be present in other fruit teas.

The same goes for flowers or plants, some of which might be familiar to you and you would be able to identify those instead in that same tea.

Remember that tea

Type in your responses, print your page and your journal beings.
