Top Tea Benefits For Men – It’s More Than “That”

I guess it’s a strange thing to think about a tea for men. A lot of men’s health articles center around his libido. There’s a lot more to men’s health than that. We will discuss the best teas and herbs for mens liabito. We will also talk about the teas for men’s general health and well being. What are the best men’s teas? Are there fit teas for men as well?

Tea for men

Why do men need their own tea? Because men are unique. Like all other species men and women have their own set of health concerns. Each unique to the sex.

While a lot of mens tea focus on the libido there is a lot more to the men’s health than his sexual prowess.

The top 10 issues for men’s health are

  • Heart health
  • Respiratory diseases.
  • Alcohol
  • Depression and suicide.
  • Accidental injuries.
  • Liver disease
  • Diabetes
  • Flu and pneumonia.
  • Cancers
  • Erectile dysfunction

I don’t even see libido in the top 10. The controversy is that ED is the same as a slow or no libido. Doctors vary on this opinion. Because libido is not always or necessarily a health issue. As with women it is a transformation of aging, it is the process in which men transform from one station to another. It’s most likely not a health issue but more a concern or most likely a fear of change. The loss of one’s youth, yet forgetting that aging has its own set of benefits as well.

Tea for mens sexual issues

It’s an important issue for men (and their partners in life). I wanted to give some natural tea help to those suffering from lack of or low libido. So often men are taught they have to be in full throttle motion 24/7 and it’s not the case. So first you must decide if you are normal or are actually suffering from a loss of sexual drive.

Remember that there are many factors that can lead up to a loss of libido. Most often it is not one factor to blame but a few.

What teas and herbs help with your libido?

Maca – Becoming a popular herb to put in smoothies. Maca is a cruciferous vegetable and grows in the Andes for over 3,000 years. Maca has been used for centuries to treat a slowing libido. A study shows the increase in libido in men using maca.

Ginkgo biloba – A Chinese herb said to help increase blood flow to the penis. By improving blood levels of nitric oxide. Ginko is also a strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant

Horny Goat Weed – Sometimes the name of an herb can be an sign to what it’s purpose is. Horny goat weed is an herb whose leaves are used as medicine. A study done with rats shows great success with ED caused by nerve damage.

Saw Palmetto – is a palm grown in the United States. The berries of the tree are used to help improve men’s prostate health and more. Saw Palmetto is used to keep testosterone from breaking down. Using saw Palmetto is said to help bring the levels of testosterone back up.

Ashwagandha root – Ashwagandha is believed to increase testosterone levels. It also helps the body to relax and de-stress which could also cause ED issues.

Green tea – I often get asked, is green tea bad for males? Actually no. Varied studies have shown that men who drink green tea are less likely to develop prostate issues.

Tea for men’s health

Tea for men’s health issues is a serious topic. As with any health issue there are certain health issues that affect men more than any other being. Men as with women are created unique. Not all herbs and teas will work with all people for all things. I’ve always stated we are all created individuals with our own set of DNA. Try, keep trying until you find what works for you. Here are my best suggestions for the top 9 health issues affecting men. I did not include accidental injuries, I’m not sure there is a tea out there to help with that. 🙂

Heart health

Hawthorn- Hawthorn is an antioxidant that works to improve blood pressure. Hawthorn also helps to lower bad cholesterol as well as triglycerides. A study in rats backed up these claims.

Respiratory diseases

Green tea – The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory effects of green tea help to reduce the risk of lung cancer.

Alcohol

Ashwagandha – Ashwagandha has been used to help with the withdrawals and cravings of alcoholism. Studies with alcohol addicted rats show that ashwagandha has also relieves anxiety.

Depression and suicide

Chamomile – Those with anxiety disorders and showed positive results from the benefits of chamomile.

Liver disease

Milk Thistle – Milk thistle is the livers friend. It’s known for restoring liver health and helping the alcohol damaged liver.

Diabetes

Black tea has blood sugar lowering properties in their theaflavins and thearubigins. These are both anti-inflammatory and antioxidants.

Flu and pneumonia

Peppermint – hands down one of the best teas for the flu, colds or pneumonia. Peppermint can calm an upset stomach and open the air passageways.

Cancers

Hibiscus – hibiscus is a great herb made into a tea for lowering blood pressure. It also has anti cancer properties. Hibiscus may also have a positive effect on prostate cancer.

Erectile dysfunction

While we discussed the teas above that are best for the male libido one question stands out. What about testosterone in men? What tea is good for testosterone? That tea would be Green tea. Green tea has been shown to have a positive effect on testosterone raising levels. Black tea had the opposite effect. Interestingly enough, both teas come from the same plant, the Camellia Sinensis. Black tea is processed longer and more and green tea is hardly processed at all.

Men’s tea concerns

Allergies – be careful of allergic reactions to anything new you introduce to your body. Because you are searching for something to help. You may have to try several different teas or herbal remedies. Try one at a time and give it time to work. Just because a product is natural or healthy there can still be an allergic reaction to it.

Avoid tea bags – avoid most bagged teas and herbs. A lot of times the tea bags are toxic. They can be held together by glues. The actual bag could be made of a material that creates toxicity when dropped into the hot water.

Sleeping Problems – Some teas and herbs can cause you to stay more alert than others. Avoid teas or herbs that keep you awake or stimulate you to the point that you are losing sleep.

Constipation – We never know what is going to affect us. Take your time as you try new remedies. If something changes in your bowel habits, eliminate it and introduce it again a few weeks down the road. See if there is any change, if not. That product is not for you.

Reduced iron absorption – The tannins in the teas, mostly the black teas are shown to decrease the bodies ability to absorb iron.
